John W. Terrio was born on Cape Cod in 1959 and is the oldest of ten children. He received his Degree in Business Admninstration from The University of Maine in 1981. He and his wife Carol reside on Cape Cod with their three children. John is active in his community coaching youth football, baseball and basketball, conducting motivational seminars for fundraising organizations and he is on the Board at St. Francis Xavier Prep School and Fundraising Chairman at St. Pius X School.
John has been working in the charity and non-profit industry for over ten years as a performer and entertainer, and as planner of corporate outings. Starting in 1981, John began coordinating charitable outings, providing comprehensively planned events at several of Cape Cod's most prestigious golf courses. He honed his skills as an auctioneer selling millions of dollars in real estate during the 1990's for Jerome J. Manning & Co., Inc. and currently holds memberships in the Massachusetts and National Auctioneer Associations.
It was during this period that John envisioned combining his skill in helping plan events with his ability to precipitate the feverous bidding environment of successful auctions.This idea was the catalyst for Auction Knights, an entity devoted to planning entertaining events that raise money for charitable and non-profit organizations. John's stage presence, attention to detail and constant energy are traits he brings to the planning and execution of every event, every performance, and the reason for the success of Auction Knights and their clients fundraising events.
